Every August the combined Greater Wellington NZSG Branches (Hutt Valley, Kilbirnie, Porirua and Wellington) get together for a Family History Month event.
In 2026, the event is being led by Porirua Branch. A Family History Day with the theme Around the Isles will be held on Saturday, 29 August at the Tawa Union Church, Elena Place, Tawa. Doors open at 9:30am! There will be presentations on different aspects of researching in the British Isles.

There is parking at the Church for those with mobility problems. Otherwise consult this map of Tawa Parking to find where to park. Car pooling is a good idea, or you can take the bus and/or train.
